NaNoWriMo 2007 : I Did it! 50,069

Friday, November 30th, 2007

Wow…didn’t think that this was going to happen at all. There was a week where I thought I wouldn’t catch up for falling behind.

This was a breakthrough for me. I have written some (albeit a lot of) small scripts for Technorama, then writing the Christmas Specials that we had for Friends in Tech (with help from others in the group, I don’t pretend to had written those all myself) that I am quite proud of. And now this, A novel. My english teacher would probably kill over if she knew.

Will I do this next year? Oh Yes! However my bets are on that I won’t wait till November to write another. Just the creative writing alone has really opened me up to some more ideas that I now have and I don’t want to wait a year to act on them.

Well, I still have some ground to cover to finish it, but I plan on podiobooking it early next year.

Thanks to NaNoWriMo, Darusha Wehm, J.C. Hutchins and all the support from my friends on twitter and writing buddies.

As Hannibal Smith said, “I love it when a plan comes together”.

Rip it Up

I had a good time heading out to “Heroes aren’t Hard to Find” for free comic book day, even if the weather wasn’t cooperating. It was fun, got some free books (missed the Family Guy one!) and bought a few titles I hadn’t seen in a while….and I consider this an educational trip for my son.

Googling for Books

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

I see that Google now offers downloads of some out of copywrite book on its Book Search. I think that this is great and all but is this really better that Geutenberg project. The 2 PDFs that I download from Google were literal scans to PDF, pictures of the book itself. Not very flexible to put on a book Reader.
