Remember the Christmas catalogs of the past. They were often called Wish Books and I and my brother would spend hours pouring over them “wishing” for almost everything. Friends in Tech has collected a series of stories and memories about the Wish Book and is presenting them throughout the month of December.
Wow…didn’t think that this was going to happen at all. There was a week where I thought I wouldn’t catch up for falling behind.
This was a breakthrough for me. I have written some (albeit a lot of) small scripts for Technorama, then writing the ChristmasSpecials that we had for Friends in Tech (with help from others in the group, I don’t pretend to had written those all myself) that I am quite proud of. And now this, A novel. My english teacher would probably kill over if she knew.
Will I do this next year? Oh Yes! However my bets are on that I won’t wait till November to write another. Just the creative writing alone has really opened me up to some more ideas that I now have and I don’t want to wait a year to act on them.
Well, I still have some ground to cover to finish it, but I plan on podiobooking it early next year.
I was kidding during the last show that we should make our own Technorama Monopoly Board. Well, I found out that you can, and you can order it.
It isn’t cheap, and it is in English Pounds, BUT..you can check out some of the properties that I named on it by viewing the PDF linked below. Zoom in to read. It will get grainy because they won’t let you have a high resolution version unless you pay for the board.
While some selections are spot on (who can argue that “Tron” is not a benchmark of CG), some leave you scratching your head as to why they were listed instead of other films. For example, they list “Radioland Murders” but not “Toy Story”. Also, three of the films on the list haven’t been released yet. Huh?
