The first day of Dragon Con was a whirlwind! We started late, got our badges (the line wasn’t too bad!), and had lunch at Gibney’s. The highlight was the karaoke night – so many people showed up! People sang our hearts out until 1:30 am and then I crashed into bed around 2. On to day two!

The year has flown by so fast! Looking forward to a little vacation at Dragon Con next week. Had a fun team meeting today where we got to meet new people in breakout rooms. It was great connecting with colleagues from different areas and even showing off my new mountain house view! The weather is perfect for working outside today. My calendar has freed up, so I’m excited to tackle some projects and enjoy the beautiful afternoon.

The weather’s been fantastic lately, a cool 53 degrees this morning! I’m excited about my new office shed arriving soon, perfect for taking meetings and working without distractions. I’m also prepping for Dragon Con and reminiscing about adopting my dog, Clutch, from a rescue. He’s a smart, social dog who even came with a training manual! Work’s going well, although podcasting from the gazebo has its challenges. Can’t wait to have my dedicated office space!

The aftermath of yesterday’s heavy thunderstorm has left its mark, but we’re all good! Last night’s trip to Dry Falls brewery was fun, especially with the delicious brisket sandwich and the amusing antics of those teenagers. The podcast community around Dog Days is thriving, and I’m loving it! I’m a bit behind on listening, but I’m trying my best. With my son coming home and Dragon Con around the corner, things are busy, but exciting!

Had a blast last night! Kim and I grabbed dinner and drinks, then stumbled upon an awesome bluegrass band at an old feed and seed building that doubles as a church. The energy was amazing – dad jokes, clogging, and even a spontaneous “Amazing Grace” singalong. Also, Big congrats to Michael Butler on 20 years of his show!

I’m absolutely loving my new mountain house! The weather has been perfect for working outside on the deck in my gazebo. The transition to a smaller space has been an adjustment, but it’s working out well so far. Soon, I’ll have an outdoor office built for recording and taking meetings. Tonight, I heard coyotes howling nearby, which brought back memories of camping with the scouts. It’s all part of the mountain life experience!

I was excited to see the Perseid meteor shower and stayed up late on August 11th to watch it. Unfortunately, I only saw a couple of meteors and went back to bed. I tried again in the morning but still didn’t see much. Later in the day, I went to a winery with my wife and friends. The winery had a beautiful view and a Blues Brothers tribute band was playing.
